“New Arrival” by James Dorr
She was new to the vampire game.
You could tell she was unsure of
trajectories, splash patterns.
She showed the signs;
soaking dresses in cold water
to remove telling stains,
wearing a bib on the evenings
when she was on the prowl
in bars and nightclubs
seducing new men.
